Online Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You usually place a bet (a dollar is the usual amt.) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Though huge jackpots like this are very appealing, they are also incredibly hard to succeed. You might have to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, think about this- you play 20 hands and lay the side wager each time. That’s 20 dollars you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you might have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds employing that $20.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only one. This shifts the overall casino edge from 2percent with one zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The individual number wager has just a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much lower house advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the casino advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that is not a error. Due to the huge set of numbers you must choose, it is not recommended to wager on Keno very much. A couple of times for fun, maybe. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly find yourself beaten.
